Install the Windows beta#

Code Weaver is available for Windows x64. The installer installs for the current Windows user and lets you choose the destination. You do not need to install Node or npm to launch the IDE. To run your projects, prepare the runtimes and tools required by their languages.

Git, Codex and language SDKs are separate tools. Install the ones your project needs. The current distribution is a beta and its installer is not digitally signed; Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning.

  1. Open Download and check the installer version and checksum.
  2. Run the installer and launch Code Weaver.
  3. Open Settings → Getting started and product status to see which tools are available.

Open your project#

You can work in an ordinary folder; Git is optional. Allowed folders define what the workspace can browse. A project can include several folders, such as the application, services and documentation.

  1. Choose a folder in workspace settings and open it in the source explorer.
  2. Open a file from the tree, or press Ctrl+P and search for its name.
  3. Use Ctrl+Shift+P to find a panel or command without hunting through menus.

Three useful landmarks#

The activity bar chooses the tool. The IDE sidebar shows that tool’s navigation: files in the editor, schemas in Database, collections in the HTTP client. Editors and panels occupy the workspace, while terminal, output and problems can stay below.
