File studio: data, previews and encodings
Preview Markdown and images, work with JSON and CSV, and inspect logs and encodings.

File studio opens project-relative paths and provides dedicated viewers. Markdown places source beside its preview, including supported Mermaid definitions. Images and SVGs offer zoom and pixel-color inspection; SVG previews disable scripts and active content.
Logs can be read progressively and followed as they change, with text filtering. Use progressive reading for large files rather than loading everything into an editor.
Structured data without losing meaning#
The JSON tree searches paths and values, while structural comparison ignores object-property ordering. The CSV grid preserves text values, including leading zeroes and empty strings. Check the delimiter and headers before editing cells.
- Open the relative file and choose its viewer.
- For an edited CSV, compare the original and prepare the save preview.
- Confirm writing only after comparison; the workflow keeps a backup.
Preview an encoding conversion#
Encoding and recovery separates source and destination, including UTF-8, UTF-8 with BOM, UTF-16 LE/BE and Windows-1252. Reread using the correct source encoding before converting, prepare a preview and inspect the characters.
If the source is wrong, converting already corrupted text does not reconstruct the original bytes. Use original-byte recovery and its preview where available; do not confirm writing until the comparison is correct.
