SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, SQL Server and Oracle are supported. SQLite uses an existing project file. Remote engines need a reachable server and suitable credentials; the IDE does not install them for you.
- Select Database in the activity bar and choose the connection.
- Browse schemas, tables, views and columns in the IDE sidebar.
- Open a .sql file or playground and check the selected connection.
- Run a selection or the statement at the cursor with Ctrl+Enter; Ctrl+Shift+Enter runs the whole worksheet.
Read results without losing your source#
SQL worksheets stay in the editor and results can occupy the bottom panel. The data browser supports server-side pages, filters and sorting where the engine allows. Real database relationships let you follow foreign keys, including composite keys.
Ctrl+Space suggests tables, schemas and columns, including after an alias. Refresh the schema after DDL changes. Credentials stay in memory unless you explicitly choose Windows credential storage.
Controlled edits and transfers#
For tables with a primary key, grid edits go through an SQL preview and confirmation. Original values are checked again and the change group runs in a transaction. CSV/JSON/XLSX import shows mapping and a preview; full CSV/JSON export is separate from exporting only loaded rows.
